The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships determines what it will cost, on
average, for you to attend Ohio University. Actually, we have several different budgets
for categories of students, such as undergraduate or graduate, Ohio resident or non-Ohio
resident, Athens or regional campus, full time or part time, etc. Our budget includes an
allowance for tuition and fees, room and board, books, transportation, and miscellaneous
educational expenses.
For example, our standard estimated cost-of-attendance for a new student, Ohio resident, on the Athens
campus, going full time for three quarters for the 2008-09 school year is:
| $ 8907 | | Tuition and Fees |
| 4854 | | Room |
| 4089 | | Board |
| 873 | | Books |
| 2580 | | Transportation |
| 1071 | | Miscellaneous |
|
| $ 22374 | | Total |
In some cases, we can build an individual budget for a student or add additional educational expenses
with appropriate documentation. Some of the more common expenses for which we can adjust a budget
include the following:
- aviation fees
- art supplies
- costs associated with studying abroad
- computer purchase
- dependent child care
In order to discuss having your budget adjusted, you would need to obtain appropriate documentation
detailing the additional expenses and contact your assigned
alpha counselor by telephone or by making an appointment.
