What is Local Employment?

Local jobs are available in and around the Athens area. Individuals, as well as businesses in the area contact the Centralized Student Employment Services (CSES) to post available positions. Like Hourly Employment, these positions are available to all Ohio University students enrolled at least half-time. There is no financial need or grade point average requirement. In addition, students looking to work more than 20 hours per week may be interested in local employment as some jobs offer this opportunity. Jobs are posted when new positions become available.

Where can I find local job postings?

Because the job posting service is centralized, students are assured an equal opportunity to apply for available jobs. Job postings are located:

• On the bulletin board located outside the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, 020 Chubb Hall
• Via email notification - Join the Student Jobs List-Serve 
• Online - See Available Local Jobs
